Bothwell Castle.
A 13th century Scottish castle, in the countryside near Glasgow.

As you can tell, this castle has not been renovated much.  That's actually what I liked best about it.  As you walk through the old passageways and rooms, and ascend the spiral stairways, you can feel the centuries the place has weathered.

These pictures were taken August 30, 1997.

South-East Tower seen from outside the castle. That's me in front of it.

The Donjon seen from across the courtyard.

South-East tower seen from a window in the Donjon.  This window apparently used to be an arrow slit.

I took all except for the "South-East Tower seen from outside the castle" picture, which was taken by my mom.
